Cameron lesion |
Cameron ulcus (or Cameron lesion) A linear ulcer or erosion at the diaphragm level in a patient with often a large hiatal hernia. The cause of this ulcer might be mechanical injury caused by the diaphragm and there might be concomitant acid mucosal injury. This type of lesion often causes occult bleeding and iron deficiency anaemia. It is usually treated with proton pump inhibitors. It was first described by AJ Cameron in 1986.
